Jay Gibbons currently serves as Past President of the Idaho-Montana, serving previously as President, President-elect and as treasurer. Being involved in the chapter and society is vital to our profession for a number of reasons. Personally, it is a way to say thank you and give back to all the now-seasoned professionals that represented the chapter and protected my interests through the early years of my career.
Jay Gibbons currently works at South Landscape Architecture. He previously served as the Parks & Pathways Project Manager for the City of Meridian’s Parks and Recreation Department and was responsible for implementation of the Meridian Pathways Master Plan. Jay has worked for the City of Meridian 6 plus years. Jay holds a Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Idaho and has been a licensed Landscape Architect in the State of Idaho for over 21 years.
Over the course of his 26 year professional career, Mr. Gibbons has served as a land use planner and as the Planning & Zoning Administrator for Ada County Development Services, as a Park Development Coordinator with the City of Boise’s Parks & Recreation Department and spent 9 years in private practice, mainly working on projects in commercial development, hospital campus development and recreational planning.
