Christopher Hawkins is currently serving as the President and has served on the Executive Committee for over 10 consecutive years in various roles. After receiving both bachelor and master’s degrees in landscape architecture from the University of Idaho, he joined the integrated design team at The Land Group in Eagle, Idaho. Christopher has a broad range of experience from large-scale master planning, urban design, infrastructure design, and public engagement. Christopher is committed to the success of our community, the progress of the profession and the happiness of his family. Serving on the Executive Committee, he can fulfill this mission as he assists local agencies with smart development policies and engages the public to expose everyone to many benefits that landscape architects offer to land development and conservation. Outside of his professional life, he spends as much time as possible enjoying the company of his family and friends.
Eric Sweet
President Elect
Sanderson Stewart, Billings, Montana
Erik is a Partner with Second Nature Consulting located in Billings, Montana(2023). Erik is the current Eastern Montana Chair for IDMT and is looking forward to continued growth of the profession and chapter within Idaho and Montana. Erik earned his Bachelors Degree from Washington State University (1994) and began his career in Missoula Montana. Erik has spent the past 27 years in the profession working across the united states and returned to Billings in 2019. Erik is on the ASLA National LARE Committee, and is licensed in multiple states across the country from Iowa to Washington.
Erik is a firm believer in the profession, and a very strong licensure proponent. Erik has published a study guide for the Landscape Architecture Registration Exam, LARE, and taught classes around the county for the last 18 years. Erik sits on the National ASLA LARE committee and is looking forward to continuing the work of existing IDMT members and Executive Boards have completed. With his major goal to support the growth of the University of Idaho’s LA program and long range goal of getting Montana State University, in Bozeman, as an accredited Landscape Architecture Degree program. With Montana housing two of the largest National parks in the Country, and the quickly changing landscape or Stormwater Quality within the environment, Landscape Architects stand poised and ready to lead Idaho and Montana into the next expansive growth of the environment and protection of our waters and resources Idahoans and Montanans grew up with and expect to pass on to our future generations.
Besides his work in licensure, Erik is has become a regional and nationally recognized Sports Field Consultant with projects across the county and Caribbean, coupled with his other work including Schools, Parks and Recreational facilities, commercial and residential projects.
Maggie Clark

Maggie Clark is a licensed Landscape Architect who is currently serving as the Chapter Past President. Although she grew up on a farm in southwest Montana she has spent her professional career in Idaho. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Idaho, she spent five years as a Project Manager/Designer for a design/build landscape construction company in Boise. In this position, Maggie gained valuable field knowledge while supervising the installation of a range of projects including high-end residential and complex commercial projects. She made the transition into public sector as a Design Professional/Project Manager for the Development Bureau for Idaho State Parks and Recreation. After relocating to Pocatello for her husband’s job she became the Project Manager in the Public Works Department for the City, working on transportation infrastructure, large scale urban development, river corridor restoration, urban parks, and the associated public involvement for these projects. In 2021 she took a remote position with Baer Design Group located in Boise. Maggie works on a variety of projects including subdivisions, parks, streetscapes, business complexes and mixed use development. Her experience working in the private and public sectors has shaped Maggie’s well rounded professional approach.
Maggie is committed to being an active advocate for the profession of Landscape Architecture. Maggie is passionate about being involved in the community and regional conservation efforts. Maggie and her husband have two little boys who keep them very busy with the adventures of life.
Matt Adams

Matthew believes in a collaborative design process with a focus on Adding Value: to our client’s investment, the communities we work in, and the lives of those we work with. Matthew believes the best outcomes occur when we understand project vision, collaborate with many voices, integrate varied experts in our work, and understand the cultural, historical, and ecological context of place.
Matthew is a Principal Landscape Architect and current President of The Land Group in Eagle, Idaho (2005 – present). Matthew earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Utah State University (2000) and began his career with The HLA Group in Sacramento California (2000 – 2005). Matthew is a Licensed Landscape Architect in Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, and California.
Matthew’s professional practice experience includes land planning and development, due diligence research, entitlement, site planning, site design, and construction administration for a wide range of projects including: public projects, K-12 education, attainable housing, and parks and recreation.
Megan Terry
Montana Vice-President

Megan Terry is the Montana Vice President of the Idaho-Montana Chapter of ASLA. Megan has a degree in landscape architecture from the University of Idaho and is a licensed Landscape Architect and SITES Accredited Professional.
Megan grew up in Southwest Montana in a multi-generational logging family - experiencing firsthand the impact of human influence on landscapes at a large scale. During college, she spent her summers as a wildland firefighter traveling across the western US. From these experiences, Megan has been able to gain an intimate understanding of how mountain desert environments are shaped and altered and the need to for systems-thinking. This background influences her work as a landscape architect and her approach with clients and stakeholders.
After spending nearly 10 years in Eastern Montana, Megan recently moved back to her roots to follow her passions - top-down remediation, socioeconomic lenses in planning, and climate positive design. Outside of work but very relevant in her personal mission, Megan is a foster parent and advocates for compassion and equity in underserved families especially as it relates to community planning and land-use decisions.
Leslie Prenidville

Rodney Evans + Partners| Boise, ID
Leslie is a Licensed Landscape Architect and Project Manager at Rodney Evans + Partners, who is currently serving as the Secretary of the Idaho-Montana Chapter of ASLA. She is licensed in Idaho and Arizona, and is a member of Idaho Women in Architecture, Engineering and Construction. Leslie has a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Idaho Urban Design Center and has 9 years of experience with a background in floriculture, as well as plant knowledge and selection after beginning her career with the Walla Walla Nursery Company.
Growing up in both the agricultural lands of southeastern Washington, and high desert of Bend, Oregon, Leslie has a strong appreciation for native landscapes. Her family life has brought her to many European countries, exposing her to historic landscapes and urban designs not found in the U.S. Leslie’s specialties
are mater site planning and commercial site design, planting and irrigation design, and project and construction management. In her free time, Leslie spends time with family and friends playing trivia, competitively bowling, and chasing after her niece, nephew, and cats.

Emily Voges is a licensed landscape architect in Idaho and California and serves as the Treasurer of the IMASLA. Emily has her Bachelor of Science in Landscape and Urban Horticulture from Brigham Young University. After graduation she started her professional career in a design/build firm in Southern California where she simultaneously continued her education in landscape architecture at University of California Los Angeles gaining her accredited CLARB certificate. During these studies, she took a pause and worked as a landscape designer in Brazil, gaining invaluable international experience in planning and design. After returning to the States, she continued working at Studio-MLA, an award winning firm in Los Angeles, where she worked on prestigious projects like SOFI stadium in Inglewood. Moving to Boise, ID in 2016 she has since been a leader at Stack Rock Group where her focus is on commercial and public design, specializing in multi-family and podium landscapes. On her time off she enjoys spending time with her kids and family and enjoys the outdoors.
Celeste Penny

Celeste Penny is a second-generation Landscape Architect currently serving as the member-at-large. She was born and raised in Montana where her passion and respect for the environment became a driving force. She earned her bachelor’s and Master’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Idaho and is a licensed professional. After school she joined the team at Breckon Land Design in Garden City, Idaho where she’s been the last four years. This past year she has relocated to Idaho Falls, Idaho where she is heading up a satellite office for Breckon Land Design. Celeste has worked on a wide variety of projects including commercial sites, educational, hillside residential, parks, and commercial and residential pool design. In her free time, she enjoys going on outdoor adventures with her husband, being creative by dabbling in a variety of different types of arts and crafts, and occasionally just curling up with a good book.
Tyler Chambers

Tyler is a Licensed Landscape Architect with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Idaho. He is a team member at The Land Group, practicing a variety of projects in site planning, civic, commercial, and multi-family residential.
Tyler is passionate about placemaking - Improving the quality of public spaces and the lives of the people who use them. He represents his peers and the Landscape Architecture profession with integrity, authenticity, and open-mindedness. These principles allow him to achieve important goals and leave a positive imprint on the world.
He values quality time with friends, family, and exciting outdoor adventures. He can be found gaming behind a computer, creating quality relationships, or exploring the natural world.
Neil Kiner
Eastern MT Chair
Second Nature Consulting | Billings, MT
Neil Kiner is the founding partner of Second Nature Consulting, PLLC, headquartered in Billings, MT. He is a 2003 graduate of North Dakota State University and has made his home in Billings since 2006. Neil is the incoming Eastern Montana Chair for IDMT, and has previously served as chapter president in 2011-2013. Neil is licensed in North Dakota, Montana, and Idaho.
Neil is currently serving on the City of Billings Energy and Conservation Commission, which is responsible for the City’s designation as a LEED Gold city. Through his leadership on this commission, Neil is actively engaged with city leaders in seeking meaningful and measurable reduction in energy and water usage across the community. Neil has also provided many other organizations with volunteer efforts, including the Billings Community Development Board, Billings Board of Adjustment, North Dakota State University Architecture and Landscape Architecture Advisory Board, and the American Society of Landscape Architects.
Neil and his wife Nicole have three kids currently in public schools in Billings.
Brent Jacobsen
Western Montana Chair

Brent Jacobsen is the Studio Director for BYLA Landscape Architects in Bozeman, MT, and serves as the Western Montana Chair for IMASLA. Brent has over 15 years of experience in landscape architecture and brings a background in fine art and a passion for ecology to create beautiful spaces connected to nature. His experience includes public parks & gardens, hospitality, high-end residential, institutional campuses, and mixed-use urban districts. Brent's experience spans work across the country but he is deeply invested in designing for the West.
An active member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, Brent has served on numerous national committees and is also the current Climate Action Chair for the ASLA Idaho/Montana Chapter. Brent also serves as an advisor and guest critic at various educational institutions. Brent holds an MLA from University of Arizona and a BA in Art from Stanford University and is a licensed landscape architect in Montana, Idaho, Colorado and California.
Emily Osborn
North Idaho Chair

Emily found a love for design and history throughout her childhood years which led her to study landscape architecture as well as anthropology at the University of Idaho. She gained practical knowledge of residential and commercial installations while working at a design/build landscape construction company in Oregon for over five years practicing in high end residential design, winery design, construction management and project management. With now over 10 years in the industry she has moved back to Idaho to work at Cobblestone Landscaping, a local design/build landscape architecture firm where she is the lead landscape designer and project manager. Her passion is to create meaningful outdoor spaces for her clients that are both beautiful and functional. With her background in sustainable design and horticultural knowledge, her designs are environmentally and ecologically mindful. Outside of the office she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Jay Gibbons

Canyon County Development Services | Canyon Co. ID
Mr. Gibbons’ career spans more than 32 years in Idaho’s treasure valley. It has been roughly split between public agency landscape architecture & land use planning and private practice landscape architecture firms. Currently he is part of the leadership team for the Canyon County Development Services Department, leading the planning, engineering and GIS divisions. He has also served in leadership roles in development services for Ada County, and in landscape architectural roles for the Cities of Meridian and Boise. His focus in private practice was on land use planning/entitlements. Throughout his career, he has been involved in the design of parks, hospital campuses, veteran cemeteries, recreational sites & amenities, subdivisions, apartment development and countless commercial projects. Mr. Gibbons holds a bachelor of landscape architecture from the University of Idaho and has been a licensed landscape architect since 1995. His involvement in the Idaho-Montana Chapter encompasses the past dozen years serving in multiple leadership positions. Giving back to the profession is a personal commitment in gratitude to all the Landscape Architects that came before and have directly influenced his career and so many others. He is an Idaho native and enjoys all facets of outdoor activities.
Description of Offices
Officers and Members
Trustee
803. The trustee shall:be informed on Chapter and Society goals and objectives, policies and procedures, programs and services, and activities and events; serve as an officer on the Executive Committee of the Chapter and serve as the Chapter representative on the Board of Trustees of the Society; facilitate the conduct of the business of the Society by bringing the Chapter perspective to the Board of Trustees and the national perspective to the Executive Committee and members of the Chapter; facilitate the conduct of the business of the Board of Trustees by serving on standing councils or committees, special study groups or task forces, or as a representative or delegate of the Society; and perform such other duties as are customary for the office of chapter trustee or as may be assigned or delegated by the Board of Trustees of the Society and the Executive Committee of the Chapter.
804. The trustee shall be a Full Member elected for a term of three (3) years.The trustee shall not serve more than two (2) consecutive terms.
President
805. The president shall: set the time, place, and agenda for meetings of the Executive Committee; call special meetings of the Chapter; preside at meetings of the Chapter and the Executive Committee; represent and act for the Chapter as directed by the Executive Committee and consistent with the policies of the Society as established by the Board of Trustees; in consultation with the Executive Committee, appoint the chairs and members of standing committees, other committees, and any special study groups or task forces; dismiss appointees for failure to act or other cause; serve as a member of the Chapter Presidents Council; oversee the management and administration of Chapter programs and budgets as adopted by the Executive Committee; designate and relieve an acting president; appoint interim trustees when vacancies occur during term; provide supporting statements to the Society for Emeritus Status, Limited Status, Temporary Limited Status, and Waver of Dues applicants; report on the state of the Chapter at the annual meeting of the Chapter; and perform such other duties as are customary for the office of chapter president, or as may be assigned or delegated by the Executive Committee.
806. The president shall be a Full Member elected for a term of two (2) years.
Acting President
807. Should the president through illness, injury, or other cause become temporarily unable to perform the duties of the office of president, the president-elect, a vice president, or the immediate past president shall be designated as acting president.The designation shall be made by the president or by a majority vote of the entire voting membership of the Executive Committee if the president is unable to act.The acting president shall perform the duties of the president until relieved by the president if the designation is made by the president or by the Executive Committee if the designation is made by the Executive Committee.
President Elect
808. The president-elect shall:in consultation with the Executive Committee, select for appointment when he or she assumes office as president the chairs and members of standing committees, other committees, and any special study groups or task forces; represent and act for the Chapter as directed by the president and consistent with the policies of the Society as established by the Board of Trustees; serve as acting president when designated by the president or the Executive Committee; and perform such other duties as are customary for the office of chapter president-elect or as may be assigned or delegated by the president.
809. The president-elect shall be a Full Member elected for a term of two (2) years.
Immediate Past President
810. The immediate past president shall:represent and act for the Chapter as directed by the president and consistent with the policies of the Society as established by the Board of Trustees; serve ex officio as a member of the Nominating Committee; serve as acting president when designated by the president or the Executive Committee; and perform such other duties as are customary for the office of chapter immediate past president or as may be assigned or delegated by the president.
811. The immediate past president shall be a Full Member serving for a term of one (1) year after completion of their duties as president.
Vice Presidents
812. The vice presidents shall:serve as liaisons for the president to standing committees, other committees, and any special study groups or task forces; monitor the management and administration of Chapter programs and budgets as adopted by the Executive Committee; represent and act for the Chapter as directed by the president and consistent with the policies of the Society as established by the Board of Trustees; serve as acting president when designated by the president or the Executive Committee; and perform such other duties as are customary for the office of chapter vice president or as may be assigned or delegated by the president.
813. The vice presidents shall be Full Members elected for terms of two (2) years. One vice president shall be a resident of the state of Idaho and one shall be a resident of Montana. Each vice president shall oversee the specific activities within each of their states.
Secretary
814. The secretary shall:maintain a record of the proceedings of the business meetings of the Chapter and the Executive Committee; prepare and issue notices of the meetings of the Chapter and the Executive Committee; prepare, issue, and receive ballots; administer annual and special elections and notify candidates of election results; serve ex officio as a member of the Constitution and Bylaws Committee; maintain the Constitution and Bylaws of the Chapter; certify documents; and perform such other duties as are customary for the office of chapter secretary or as may be assigned or delegated by the president.
815. The secretary shall be a Full or Associate Member elected for a term of two (2) years.
Treasurer
816.The treasurer shall:collect all fees, dues, charges, and other funds due the Chapter; be the custodian of all Chapter funds and disburse such funds only as authorized by the Executive Committee; keep the accounts of the Chapter that shall be open at all times to inspection by the Executive Committee; present quarterly reports on the financial condition of the Chapter and year-end financial statements to the Executive Committee; and perform such other duties as are customary for the office of chapter treasurer or as may be assigned or delegated by the president.
817. The treasurer shall be a Full or Associate Member elected for a term of two (2) years.
Section Chairs
818. Administration of Chapter sections is vested in the section chairs.The section chairs shall:be informed on Chapter goals and objectives, policies and procedures, programs and services, and activities and events; serve as a member of and represent the section on the Executive Committee of the Chapter; facilitate the conduct of the business of the Chapter by bringing the section perspective to the Executive Committee and the Chapter perspective to the members of the section; facilitate the conduct of the business of the Executive Committee serving on standing or other committees or special study groups or task forces; and perform such other duties as are customary for the position of section chair or as may be assigned or delegated by the Executive Committee of the Chapter.
819. The section chairs shall be Full or Associate Members elected for terms of one (1) years.
At-Large Members
820. The at-large members shall:serve as liaisons to the general membership and otherwise support the normal functions and positions of the other officers of the Executive Committee; and perform such other duties as are customary for the position of at-large member or as may be assigned or delegated by the Executive Committee of the Chapter.
821. The at-large members shall be Full or Associate Members elected for terms of one (1) years and no more than one(1) at-large member shall be elected from either state region.
Non-Voting Members
822. Nonvoting members of the Executive Committee shall include the student chapter presidents and such other persons as determined necessary and appropriate by the Executive Committee.
