STEINER THUESEN PLLC is seeking a project manager/landscape architect to augment our three-person firm. The position will be responsible for all aspects of project development including client contact, design, consultant management, cost estimating, and production supervision as well as performing construction administration. Candidates should be self-motivated and possess a positive and cooperative attitude with strong communication,
organizational and design skills. This individual should be dedicated to quality work, be looking for an opportunity to grow individually and professionally, and be able to represent the firm with a high level of integrity and professionalism.

Position to be filled immediately requires a degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program and 3 – 5+ years of employment in a landscape architecture or similar firm. Candidate shall be a licensed landscape architect or actively pursuing licensure.

Position Announcement

The candidate should be passionate about landscape architecture and demonstrate strong graphic, written and communication skills. The ability to operate MicroStation helpful but not required. Grading/drainage, irrigation design, and construction experience are preferred. Experience with In-Design and SketchUp are a plus. Proficiency in MS Office is required.

You are a Landscape Architect or Landscape Intern with at least 5 years of experience producing
landscape designs, graphics, construction documents, and technical specifications. You specialize in design for commercial environments, athletic fields, recreation, and urban plazas and streetscapes. You have your license in Washington or see that as the next step in your professional development. You have a strong desire to continually grow your skills, experience, and network – “coasting” isn’t your thing. You work collaboratively with clients and team members. You can give critique (and receive it) in an effective way, maintain relationships, and work in harmony with others.

In this role you will:

  • Develop site and landscape designs for client review and approval
  • Produce construction documents in AutoCad and Civil 3D including hardscape layout plans,
  • grading/drainage plans, planting, lighting and irrigation plans, and construction details.
  • Conduct periodic on-site observation of construction activities to monitor compliance with plans.
  • Participate in client presentations, public outreach, and regulatory meetings.
  • Represent the firm with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Your Skills and Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years of employment experience on commercial, education, and institutional

BLA or MLA from an accredited program.
Knowledge of local plant materials, climate, and planting practices.
Basic understanding of design principles and site design codes and regulations.
Able to work independently and as part of a team, and multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven

Considerate of others, places high value on resolving conflicts and maintaining relationships.
Advanced skills in AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Civil 3D and
the Adobe Creative Suite; high comfort level with software and technology in general.

Bruce Boody Landscape Architect, Inc. has an opening for an Entry-level Landscape Architect/Designer in our studio located in Whitefish, Montana. Whitefish is a beautiful mountain and ski town home to a world-class ski resort, surrounded by mountains and spectacular, unspoiled nature located near Glacier National Park. Working in this setting, our downtown studio is seeking creative, enthusiastic candidates for an Entry/Mid-level Landscape Architect/Designer position. We are seeking a new team member with the ability to delve into designing and drafting on day one. Additional responsibilities include assisting the design team with research, master planning, conceptual site design, graphic representation, and construction documentation.
